This month saw a number of small quality-of-life fixes, although one major update this month was the roll out of the new Marketplace UI. We also worked on a number of long-term features that are not yet ready for deployment. To hear more about our roadmap for the second quarter of this year take a look at our livestream from last week!

Third Livestream

On 23rd April we held our third community livestream. The video was recorded and saved onto YouTube. So make sure to check it out.

Here is what we covered:

  • History of NFTs & NFTs of Nine Chronicles

March felt like a quieter month for updates as we didn’t have any major releases, but a lot appended in the background. That being said, we finally made all of our code open source which is a huge milestone although most of the work to refactor the code was done in January and February.

This month we made quite a few updates to performance and ironed out a number of bugs. We also released the NCIP process and signed out the very first grant!

Nine Chronicles: Fully Open Sourced

One of the biggest milestones for Nine Chronicles is making all of the code fully open…

Over the past month, our team has put together a process for the community to collaborate with us on improving Nine Chronicles. Now we are proud to introduce Nine Chronicles Improvement Proposals (NCIPs). If you click the link, you will be taken to the NCIP Github page which describes how the process works. If the process seems daunting at first, don’t worry! You are always welcome to come and ask us questions in the ecosystem-supporters channel on Discord.

First things first. What type of improvements do the NCIPs cover?

The scope of the NCIPs include the following:

  • Improvements to gameplay

Whenever you press any button in the Nine Chronicles game you may be asking yourself “what happens in the background?” You know that this game feels different from any other you’ve played before and are likely curious to understand how the technology works.

This is the second blog where we describe the technology behind Nine Chronicles. We strongly recommend that you read the first part before reading this one. One of the fundamental concepts in that blog is the idea of translating in-game actions into transactions on the blockchain.

While it is necessary to describe some of the technical components…

February was a busy month us with some exciting announcements and a few persistent bugs! This month saw us work hard on cleaning up our code to get it ready to be full open sourced. Part of our efforts in that regard was to provide an improved API for allowing more developers to start playing with our technology.

Second Livestream

On 12th February we held our second community livestream. The video was recorded and saved onto YouTube. So make sure to check it out.

Here is what we covered:

  • Quick intro to a core member of each team @ Planetarium.

Have you ever wondered what happens in the background of Nine Chronicles whenever you press a button within the game client? Let’s explore!

As Nine Chronicles is a fully decentralized game that uses blockchain technology things happen a little differently from what happens in a traditional MMO. Some of these differences may cause some frustration with our players, but there are also advantages too. In previous blogs, we’ve outlined our belief in true ownership of items and the importance for preventing cheating.

In a new series of blogs we will take a deeper dive in the technology behind Nine Chronicles…

Happy New Year! We wish everyone a prosperous year now that 2020 is finally done. Now that the first month is done, we want to introduce you to a new series of blogs. Each month we will provide an update to the community of latest developments in the game and the overall ecosystem.

Before we get started with the progress of this month, we want to do a brief recap of Nine Chronicles at the end of 2020.

Recap of 2020

As every blog you have read this month no doubt states, 2020 was a strange and unpredictable year. …

Planetarium is pleased to announce the launch of the Ecosystem Support Program for Nine Chronicles!

We know that a successful game requires a strong community, so we are launching this program as a way to support creativity and reward community members who further the Nine Chronicles ecosystem.

The Ecosystem Support Program provides a way to earn NCG (Nine Chronicles Gold), activation keys, in-game items for the game, and more. The activities we support include promoting awareness of Nine Chronicles to other gamers, creating mods for the game, building useful tools, plus helping us to translate our resources into other languages.

Hello from Planetarium! 😊

Our team is busily preparing for the launch of the Mainnet Early Access on October 27th as scheduled. In line with the early access, we will share the distribution schedule for Nine Chronicles Gold and your presale exclusive items below.
